NaariSamata was one year old on the 16th of June, 2022. We are proud of what we have achieved.
NaariSamata has now officially completed one full year as a registered charity, and we cannot wait for this second year! Thank you to everyone who has made this a dream come true to help us get here!
It is a blessing to continue to help communities in need. This past year alone we worked to support nine orphans displaced due to COVID-19, trained 30 women with the skills needed to be financially independent, fed 60 children for 30 days and provided footwear for 60 children who previously were forced to walk to school barefoot.
Our 3 main focus areas this year are Project Siragu – Siragu means Wing in Tamil. This is our adopt a village project. The goal is to turn these into model villages. The details can be found on our projects page.
We are also focusing on developing e-learning courses for 12-16 aged children, covering topics involving gender equality, mental health, puberty, domestic violence, bullying, and more! These will all be gifted to schools for free.
Our third main focus is on the sponsor a girl project. Currently, we are already sponsoring four girls in their education, and have committed to sponsoring 20 this year!
We are celebrating our anniversary on the 18th with a small event to finally meet most of our volunteers who are meeting each other for the first time. We will be adding photographs of the event as soon as it happens. Watch this space…
